This is the 7th post in a series of 8 on transformation and the small business leader.
“I’m tired…tired of trying.” A familiar and very sincere lament from a small business owner…. feeling the weight and pressure of a business that needs to change and, at the same time, is wholly committed to being transformed and experience the joy promised by Jesus in John 15:1-17 NIV.
This owner has rightly decided that living a dis-integrated life is no longer an option for him, his family and his business. He has decided that he will - for a Lifetime - pursue living an integrated and transformed life in Christ: within his will, body, mind and soul.
Too often we miss the crucial integration of the God-designed parts…. all the pieces that make us human. Jesus highlights these in Mark 12:29 – 31 NLT.
The apostle Paul’s challenge is to live an integrated life; to bring your whole self to Christ. Take a look at Romans 12:1-2 NIV. As you read it, pay attention to the individual parts Paul references as he urges the Roman Christians to grow and mature in Christ. Look for the language of body, mind (thought and feeling), and will.
If we are to experience the ease of Christ (Matt 11:38-40 MSG), then we must open up every piece of our life to His life-giving, God-honoring, seeking-His-kingdom-first way.
How “whole” are you?
A Deliberate Application:
- Quietly reflect on Mark 12:29-31 NLT & Romans 12:1-2 NIV
- Where may you be sensing a “disintegration” in your life?
- Where are you sensing God ask you to focus as you choose to be integrated, to “be transformed” into the whole person He is inviting you to be? Is it your:
- Will
- Mind (thought and feeling)
- Body
- Soul
- What is God saying to you as you reflect?
- Who can you share this with?
