Under Pressure!

3 timely instructions to help you.

Over the past few months, my partners and I have been reflecting on the “squeeze” we have been experiencing. Regardless of the gain we can make in being proactive, the many ongoing demands can leave one, if not careful, pondering “why bother?”  “Why not concede and just go with the flow?” Lately, it feels like the pressure to do so has only increased.

How has the pressure been for you?

I have taken immense comfort and instruction as I read about Jesus when He was under tremendous pressure. I pray that you, too, will embrace and receive what Jesus has to say to you.

In John 16:33 NLT Jesus was clear on what you and I are to do as we experience trials and sorrows that create significant pressure in our lives.

Here are 3 practical steps to help you navigate the pressures in your life as a leader at work and at home.

  1. Accept difficulty – accept pressure. Accept the fact that experiencing pressure is part of being human. To try and pretend that what you are experiencing is not real is a recipe for deep disappointment. You WILL HAVE TROUBLE!
  2. Take heart – it's a choice. Jesus was specific in His direction to us as we experience the challenges of leading self and others. His instruction is a proactive choice on our part to fully engage with Him – to “take heart”. In the leadership of ourselves, our homes and our businesses, we are to fully embrace and experience the reality of Christ in us and through us.
  3. He’s got it – He’s the overcomer! Taking heart is not a fluffy, un-focused willing-oneself-to-feel better strategy. It is a LOUD declaration that Jesus is in charge. In the midst of fulfilling your responsibilities, no matter what troubles you may be facing…declare, once again, that Jesus has overcome the world!
